Open letter in regards to album release date

Up until two weeks ago my album was coming out November 10th. That all changed when a handful of people at Warner Brothers got let go during company wide lay offs. One person in particular has been a main part of my team for 10 years. He has been there since day one when I got signed and we had so much planned for this album and the future. This is just a result of the corporate world and the economic times we live in. So on a personal level this really sucks.

NYC, video and more

Hey everyone.

I'm sitting here getting ready for the long day ahead. Going to WPLJ this morning to play Sooner or Later on-air. It's been a while since I've seen those guys!

After that I have a photo shoot for Corduroy Magazine, then a meeting with People and the live taping of LX New York a new hourly entertainment show on NBC. It's so nice to be in the city starting press for the record. I have a show tomorrow (Wednesday the 30th) at City Winery that will be extra special. I'm playing with producer John Leventhal for a mix of fans and press and we're playing a couple songs I've never done live before from Everything Comes and Goes. Should be a great time if you can make it out.

Also, I'm very excited because the Sooner or Later video is premiering on CMT all weekend long. I can't wait for you guys to see it.

Alright, now I'm gonna be late! Gotta go!
Have a great week!

New show info and more

Hey everyone.

First off I'm so excited to announce an upcoming show in NYC on SEPT 30th. At first it was going to be a label showcase for press etc. and now we've all decided to open the doors and let fans in on it too. (Which makes it so much more fun for me!!) It's going to be a very intimate acoustic night where I tell stories about the songs with producer John Leventhal on guitar. I really hope you can make it! (Details here)

Monday er Tuesday update

Happy Monday-ish everyone.

I'm sitting here in Nashville doing laundry and re-packing to leave for more radio promo visits. My first single Sooner or Later is officially out at country radio! Don't be shy, feel free to harass your local station and request it as much as you like. You have my permission :)

Last week I had the most amazing show at The Grove in L.A. I was actually quite nervous that no one was going to show up. Boy was I wrong! The final count was around 5 thousand in attendance. Incredible!! You guys were singing along to every word and made it such a fun show for Teddy, Dustin and I. We were only supposed to play 30 minutes acoustic but it was hard to stop playing we added another 3 songs to the set. If you weren't there I'm sure you could find some videos on youtube because from the stage all we could see were people with their cameras. I really can't wait to come back with a full band show and play for you guys again. We've also been talking about having a secret show in the L.A. area some time and announcing it last minute on Twitter. Lots of cool ideas.

Sooner or Later, Video shoot, radio promo etc.

Hey everyone.

Well, I'm finally checking in. I know I've missed a week or so. I've been out on radio promo and it's some weird side-effect that if you wake a musician up before 10 a.m. they become completely delirious. About the only thing I can manage to do is Tweet, haha.

So tomorrow is the big day that Sooner or Later officially goes to radio!! I'm so anxious to see what happens. Please if you have an extra moment tomorrow, call your local country station and request Sooner or Later. I'll owe you one ;)

We filmed the video for Sooner or Later last weekend and it went really well. It was a 3 a.m. wake up call and a very long hot day. We shot out in the desert and it was 104 degrees for the most part. I even learned how to drive stick shift!! I am seeing an edit sometime this week and I'm quite excited to see it. I have some photos from it for you guys to check out coming soon.

Play it Forward

Hey everyone.

I've been so crazy busy these past few weeks I can barely think straight but it's all good. We moved from one house in Nash to another-moving is always a pain in the butt. I also started my radio promo tour. It's so exciting to finally be playing this music for people!

Then I'm headed out to Los Angeles this week so I can film the video for Sooner or Later. I'm working with my old pal Liz Friedlander. It's gonna be so great to see her and work with her again. She directed my first two videos, Everywhere and All You Wanted. I'm loving the treatment. After that I head to NYC to play a show at the Beacon Theater with Chris Isaak then back to the west coast for more radio promo. So keep an eye out on Twitter because I'll be keeping you up to date through all of it. That's also the easiest way for me to tell you what radio stations I'm visiting and playing at :) www.twitter.com/michellebranch

Well...

Well...

I really just don't know what to say. I'm so excited and overwhelmed that new music is finally available for you guys to hear.
You have no idea how much I wanted you guys to be able to listen to this...

I guess the music speaks for itself. If you haven't heard it yet, please check it out!

I just got to Chicago. Finished my first day of radio promo and all I can say is that it feels good to be back out with new music!

Lots of love to you guys!

It's all happening

Hey everyone,

Well this morning I finished mixing the last track for the album and next week Everything Comes and Goes will be mastered. I can’t believe I’m finally officially finished. It’s been well worth the wait. (At least I think so.)

So now the news you’ve all been waiting for…

We are going to premiere my first single Sooner or Later here for all of you on July 20th and it will go on sale on itunes on July 21st. I can’t wait for you to hear the record version!

Next week I start my radio promo tour, so start requesting Sooner or Later on your local radio stations!!
As they say in Almost Famous, “It’s all happening.”

Happy 4th of July!!

Thank you everyone for your sweet birthday messages. I've had a really great couple of days spent with friends and family.
They say whatever you are doing on your birthday is what you're going to be doing the rest of the year. Last year I was sitting around, basically doing nothing except waiting for my album to come out. This year however I was busy from sun up to sun down, working, working working and filming for a documentary about...me. I hope this is a good sign for the year to come!

Food For Thought

I love food.

I grew up with a mother that was equivalent to a gourmet chef. We sat around as a family nearly every night and ate beautiful extravagant meals together. Most of the time when we would make it out to a restaurant for a special occasion, we’d all end up praising my mom in the car on the way home about how much more we enjoy her food than eating out. That being said, going to the local Furrs was not necessarily the epitome of culinary enlightenment but the point is, my mom makes damn good food.

Almost 4 years ago when I became a mother myself, I was suddenly reeling at the idea that it was my responsibility to take care of this little person who knew no better. It was then that I started becoming educated on the ugly truth behind factory farming and where our food comes from. My family and I successfully became vegetarians for three years (full on vegan for 6 of those months) and it seemed to go really well for a long time. Until about a month ago…
